Reach the Correct Records Office
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and Jail handle current county custody and jail-created booking records. Public office hours reported by the sheriff and county are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Choose the office that created or maintains the record:
- For a current jail profile, booking sheet, or intake photograph, use the sheriff's inmate search or DCSO records office.
- For a Butler, Garrett, or Auburn police incident report, contact the police department that made the arrest.
- For filed charges and disposition, search Indiana MyCase or contact the DeKalb County Clerk.
- For a warrant match, use the official DCSO warrant search and confirm it with the sheriff or issuing court.
- For state correctional custody or supervision, use the Indiana Department of Correction offender search.
- For federal prison or immigration detention, use the official BOP or ICE locator.
DCSO publishes no booking-photo-specific price. Ask for an estimate and request the existing electronic file. Auburn Police separately lists a $6 incident-report fee, but that city price does not apply to a DCSO intake photograph. Under Indiana APRA, an agency response may acknowledge the request, seek clarification, quote a fee, or give a production estimate. The response period is not a promise that records will be delivered within that time.
For a useful request, give the full name, a narrow booking date range, and a booking number when known. Ask separately for the intake sheet and photograph. This distinction reflects DeKalb County's local system: city police may hold the incident report, while the county jail holds the booking image.
